Hayat Sulanim

-Fist of Rhalgr-

Then

What few idyllic years young Hayat enjoyed was to be a temporary peace in her life. Barely a year after Garlemalds invasion of Gyr Abania and the misfortunate disappearance of her mother, Hayat's father arranged for his daughter and sister to escape the city and to be taken far away from the region and out of the Empire's clutches. The bustling, lively streets of proud Ala Mhigo would become but faint recall for a young girl swiftly cast into a world of uncertainty, unbeknownst to the fact that she would never see her parents ever again. An arduous, stressful journey was made through the conquered region, as well as Gridanias wild forests and eventually Thanalan. But the dangerous search for safety and freedom claimed its victims along the way.

Like many refugees, life within the perceived safe haven of Ul'dah was greatly desired, to find shelter and rest. A dream shattered at the gates of the city-state. Callous judgment saw Hayat and her ailed aunt shunted and barred from entry, and so they had to make a new home; Little Ala Mhigo. Life within the settlement was one of few excitements. Strenuous and tedious all the same, with hunger and thirst looming around the corners and with little assuring of a better tomorrow. A poor existence, but they were alive and looked out for one another.

The tasks of adulthood burdened Hayat's shoulders at a very young age. Between caring for her aunt, whose condition only progressively got worse, the younglings, and helping get the camp fed, Hayat was given the opportunity to train with the other youths in martial arts. Or rather, she stubbornly insisted on being taught just like everybody else. Her greatest strength became a tender, growing resolve and Hayat grew to be apt in the ways of a physical fighter and took pride in. It cultivated a symbolic closeness to her monk of a mother, long gone, but not soon forgotten.

But Nald'thal had more souls to claim from Hayat's side...

No longer did her weak body fight, and Hayat's aunt slumbered for the last and final time. This was the last true tether Hayat held to Little Ala Mhigo. Tired of existence on the fringes and worn by lack of betterment or support, she packed what meager possessions were her own and left.

The search brought her on the path to Camp Drybone. A meager hovel spoken of as more of a haunt for the dead than the living, and a place more traveled through than stayed in. Employment within the settlement found Hayat in a curious way; though outnumbered, a brawl with troublemakers in the local tavern saw her as the figurative victor until the Brass Blades intervened. Though cuts and bruises were gained from the ordeal, she had impressed the locals. With the role of peacekeeper already filled, Hayat was employed as a barmaid, doubling as an unofficial bouncer. She also became an assistant cook, following a dare regarding her complaints of lack of spices in the dishes served within the hovel. The added Ala Mhigan gusto refueled Hayat's love and passion for cooking and she was given more responsibility within the kitchen.

With a roof over her head, and slowly but steadily making her own coin, life seemed to finally pan out for the better for Hayat. Spare time was spent for either training or persuading travelers to share tales of a world beyond acrid Thanalan.

But the skies burned as the primal Bahamut broke free from the moon Dalamud, causing the Calamity. What fragile world Hayat had managed to craft for herself was torn by new losses and trauma. In wake of the chaos, anyone able bodied was sought after. To build and work, and so, Ul'dah beckoned.

The city-state of Ul'dah, much like the remainder of Eorzea suffered the damages of the rampant primal. But in midst of it, Hayat saw a selfish chance, and offered her services in many fields, ranging from clearing rubble and tending to the wounded. Eventually, it was the infirmary that claimed most of Hayat's attention.

It was during one of these shifts that she met Somai Aramen, chief of a wealthy Lalafell merchant's personal guard by the name of Siryu Wakeyu. Sharing her plight of a lack of home and soon employment in Ul'dah, Somai sympathized and through him, Hayat came under the employ as cook and cleaner for -Madame- Eona Cotter at her hostel. The hostel served mostly as a daylight front, offering special treatment, services, and delights during the night, while facilitating less than savory types and their deals, mostly with the hostel's investor, Siryu Wakeyu.

It led to frequent run-ins with Somai, and Hayat came to confide in the Ul'dahn. Of similar age and similar hardships, the two grew only closer and soon blossomed a form of a whirlwind romance. It soon became a question of who was the most swept away and whose love went unproclaimed...

Baelsar's Wall fell, and the news sounded far and wide and sung all the louder to a tentatively positive refugee's ears. Hayat was all the more drawn by the prospect of seeing her true home. Scarcity of funds was close to shattering hope, alas Hayat conjured a dangerous scheme. Siryu Wakeyu was roped into a deal involving an artifact of ancient Ala Mhigo, a tale spun by Hayat to allow her time to leave Ul'dah with more coin than what she had ever seen in her entire life and make for Gridania, and eventually, Gyr Abania.

Now

Tales of the Griffin's acts and schemes reached Hayat rapidly as she made for Baelsar's Wall. How a final, mustered act of resistance was but a feast for the slaughter, born of frustration and anger. It stoked will and resolve, steadfast tools which she carried with her to Rhalgr's Reach.

Wounded soldiers and stressed healers alike sometimes needed a pair of ears and someone to speak with more than clean bandages. Between offering comfort and support, Hayat installed herself as a manner of caretaker within the Resistance, and it was here she made acquaintance with a Dragoon named Elias Mercer, and an Ananta named Jyoti. Following Zenos yae Galvus' brutal attack upon the Reach, Hayat wanted to do more; taught the weaknesses and strengths of magitek and further desire to aid on the field led to the rudimentary training of lancing.

Curiosity brought her in contact with the Fist of Rhalgr, Widargelt, who instantly stoked Hayat's interest. A piece of history and diligence from her side saw Hayat on the path to true monkhood. Though the training is harsh and rigorous, she could rightfully declare herself a Fist of Rhalgr and monk of the order when given the charge of a soulcrystal, bearing a strange but unplaceable familiarity.

Alas with new and dire conflicts swiftly appearing on the horizon, war bid one learn quick and fast. Deemed skilled enough, she was sent out on the field to aid the Amalj'aa of Paglth'an and supplement the Grand Company forces with age-old might. The battle was great, and dire in many ways. Hayat came to suffer a deadly blow by a dragon's claw and was just scarcely plucked away from the edge of death.

With a path and might yet to consolidate, she has found herself in the company of a Warrior's Litany, awaiting the sound and call of the Bull of Ala Mhigo's horn, and wherever its commands and the needs of her home may lead her.

Long locks of inky black hair descend far down her back, reaching almost down to Hayat's rear. Despite its length, it is seldom seen constrained by braids or hair ties, left to flow freely unless deemed absolutely necessary. Wavy tresses frame a round face, contrasted by a distinct and firm jawline while her cheeks retain a genteel softness prevalent in most of the woman's features. Thick brows overlook gleaming, thickly lashed turquoise eyes seemingly brimming with life and determination, while attentive and alert.

Hayat's glee is one of cheerful nature, often one to display a warm and welcoming smile upon plush lips. Though far removed from greater riches, a gilded ring sits secured in her left nostril, oftentimes seen with an attached, slim golden chain secured behind her ear, with a golden earring seated in each earlobe.

Stout and tall, monkhood and training have afforded Hayat with a resilient physique and strength, boasting strong muscularity and a curvaceous body conveying the woman's chosen path. Exhibiting great control over her body and movements, Hayat displays certain confidence in her state of being, with a calm demeanor and steady gait. As one relatively new to the greater strifes of war and conflict, her brown skin appears unmarred and free from scarring, but should one keenly eye her midriff, the tail-end of a big ugly scar stands out from under her clothing - yet to completely mend and heal.

Hooks

🌣 As one of the many refugees that fled Gyr Abania in wake of the Garlean occupation of the region, Hayat settled in Little Ala Mhigo for a good many years together with her aunt. Until borderline disappearing from the settlement after said aunt's death.

🌣 After the 7th Calamity struck, Hayat sought her way toward Ul'dah, where she first offered her aid as a nurse and caretaker, to later coming under the employ of a Madame. Loose and inconspicuous associations made her an efficient tool in many of the merchant Siryu Wakeyu's schemes, for better or worse, and often involved getting blood on her hands.

🌣 A staunch member of the Ala Mhigan Resistance, now also the Grand Company and has worked with the coalition force of Rhalgr's Beacon. While not serving as a specified soldier for the greater duration of the conflict, Hayat often acted as an assisting nurse and caretaker.

🌣 A Fist of Rhalgr. Wanting to do more and carve herself a path in a world that long denied her one, Hayat trained and yet trains rigorously together with initiates and veterans alike to achieve new heights, while simultaneously seeking to discover more of what it truly means to be a Monk.

🌣 Not long after the fall of Baelsar's Wall, Hayat made a swift disappearance from Ul'dah, and in wake of wounded pride, Siryu Wakeyu placed a bounty on the woman's head after she supposedly scammed him of a great amount of gil. While not widely known or wanted, for anyone curious or greedy and bold enough, speaking with the right Brass Blade may yield enough information to track her down.

OOC

Hello!
Welcome to the profile of my character Hayat Sulanim. I am an experienced roleplayer and I've spent a lot of time on dedicated forums and World of Warcraft creating stories and having a fun time.

While I prefer longform, one-on-one roleplay, I do enjoy a spot of casual stuff now and again and generally very interactive roleplay and I am flexible in my way of writing. I'm more into the high fantasy of things and deeper stories, as well as a slice of life while also enjoying certain realism applied to things to make them more interesting.

Feel free to send me a DM or /t whenever I'm online (player is 21+). I go by GMT +1 (EST +6) and play on Mateus, but generally available whenever.
